Discourse Analysis of Verbal Nominalization in Business English Correspondence

Abstract
Verbal nominalization is recognized as a typical discourse in business English correspondence. This study aims to analyze characteristics of verbal nominalization in the corpus of business English correspondence. The results show that the verbal nominalization is usually realized by symbolic suffixes and singular suffix and the suffixation with the significant frequencies in business English correspondence, which is positively contributed to the remarkable discourse features of business English correspondence.
