The Nature of Educational Tourism: The Aspects of Means-end Chain Approach

This study aimed at investigating the nature of educational tourism by the adoption of means-end chain approach. Data was collected by interviewing three college students who finished the survey at Panxi area in 2020. Means-end chain approach, then, was employed to analyze the data. Findings show that a total of six meaningful paths: professional competence - research work - the integrated value of knowing and doing, destination health tourism resources -research work - the integration of knowing and doing, professional competence - interpersonal communication -research motivation - the integration of knowing and doing, destination travel Impressions - research work – discovery, travel habits -research work – discovery, and interpersonal communication - research work - leisure and social value could be met to be the approached to the nature of educational tourism. For example, college students hope to bring together their knowledge and behavior by participating in educational tourism. By verifying their professional ability (attributes), completing the research work (results), and reflecting the study of tourism to use, and the integration of knowing and doing. Moreover, recommendations to the government, industry, and future research were drawn.

An Initial Survey of Experience Activities for Health and Wellness Tourism: A Case of Qionglu Scenic Area, Xichang City, Sichuan Province

Our country’s economy and society continue to develop. With the popularization of national education and the growth of per capita annual income, the people are paying more and more attention to experience situations, and the tourism industry has entered the era of experience economy. In addition, at the end of 2019, my country's population over 65 years old accounted for 11.4%, and the 60-year-old retired group accounted for 18.1% (approximately 253 million people). In fact, it has entered an aging society, and the demand for health tourism has become more intense. Therefore, the citizens' demand for experience and health tourism has become more obvious. How to meet the development needs of health and wellnesstourism under the background of experience economy is an extremely important research topic. The research purpose of this article is to explore the problems of health and wellness tourism experience projects from the perspective of experience marketing, and put forward corresponding suggestions. This study uses the well-known tourist destination in Panxi, China: Qionglu Scenic Area, XichangCity, Sichuan Province, to interview local tourists through in-depth interviews. A total of 20 effective interview samples are obtained and analyzed by content analysis. The results of the analysis show that the respondents’ perception of health and wellnesstourism is mostly to promote health tourism, which roughly conforms to the definition of health and wellness tourism. Secondly, in terms of health and wellness tourism experience activities, respondents prefer catering activities, and focus on mountain and water experience activities. Therefore, this research suggests that destination managers and operators should make good use of local natural resources and cultural characteristics of the Yi ethnic group, focus on developing mountain and water experience projects, highlight ethnic minority dining and cultural characteristics, and meet consumer health and tourism needs.

Traditional Architecture in Romanian Philately (IV): the Households from Ieud, Jurilovca, Mastacăn, Moișeni and Năruja

The cultural heritage is not only represented by the historical architectural monuments, but also by the architecture of wooden churches or traditional houses. It must be seen as a valuable heritage that, through proper management, can become a source of community well-being. It is important to preserve traditional architecture. To be able to build or restore adapted to modern needs, and respect the local architectural specifics. In this context, the study tries to emphasize once again the beauty of traditional Romanian architecture. This time in terms of philately. We want to expose the architectural specifics from five areas – Ieud (Maramureș county), Jurilovca (Tulcea), Mastacăn (Neamț), Moișeni (Satu Mare) and Năruja (Vrancea). Using illustrated postcards, and other philatelic effects, scenes from the outside and inside of the households in question are presented. The results of the research itself, not numerous, can be reorganized in the form of thematic exhibitions. Such events can contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the area among tourists.

Effects of Audio-visual Aids on the Academic Performance of Nursery Schools Pupils in Alphabets Reading in Sokoto Metropolis, Nigeria

The study aims to determine the effects of audio-visual aids on the performance of nursery school pupils in alphabet reading in Sokoto metropolis. The study sets out three research objectives, three questions, and two hypotheses. The study adopted a survey design method. All Nursery school pupils in Sokoto metropolis form the population of the study. A purposive sampling technique was used to select two schools (New Dawn and Nagarta College) to participate in the study. New Dawn and Nagarta College were respectively allocated to experimental and control groups through balloting. An intact class from each of the two schools was used for the study. An achievement test instrument was developed by the researchers, validated by experts. To ensure the reliability of the instrument, a pilot study was conducted and a reliability index of 0.94 was obtained using KR-21. The research questions were answered using descriptive statistics, and the two hypotheses were tested using independent sample t-test statistics. Results from the study reveal that the treatment was effective in improving pupils’ academic performance. It was also found that there was a significant difference between the academic performance of the pupils taught using audio-visual aids and those taught the same using the conventional approach in favour of those exposed to the treatment. The study concludes that pupils’ poor academic performance could be a result of poor utilization or inadequacy of instructional media. Therefore the study recommends that Schools management should make audio-visual aids available for effective delivery in the instructional processes, and schools authorities concerned should encourage teachers to make efficient use of the audio-visual teaching aids during the instructional process.

Education through Play- A Bridge between Kahoot Mobile Applications and Philately

In Romania of 2021, where society is constantly tempted by numerous changes in methodology and constrained by the development of the didactic act mainly online, as a result of the pandemic, education through play can be the long-awaited answer. The game itself can take various forms, sometimes the most interesting. The present paper seeks to present such a form. Starting from education through play, the paper aims to outline another possible dimension of the way of conducting the act of teaching-learning assessment and obtaining feedback. Thus through a series of worksheets, education through play is punctuated and finely delimited, as a bridge between mobile applications and philately. A series of exercises are proposed, which can be carried out in the mixed work variant. They can successfully provide lessons involving fun math or ecology, but the range of uses can be expanded. They can be used as materials in teaching new knowledge and in evaluating existing ones. This study certifies that education through play knows no limitations as long as the trainers has several key skills and has access to various resources.
